Chapbook Box Set Reviewed By Washington Post

APBF Staff April 14, 2016

The Washington Post weighed in on the various merits of the just released New-Generation African Poets Chapbook Box Set (Tatu). In their glowing review, the contributions of the poets are highlighted individually, and the review pays special attention to the ways in which the collection as a whole sheds light on conceptions of African writing and poetry:

“As a group, the chapbooks dispel stereotypes about African writing. They also illustrate what editors Dawes and Abani note about the many ways poets can understand or redefine their ties to Africa. These insights are poignant and valuable, especially at a time when millions around the globe find themselves somewhere between new countries and ancestral lands they’ve left behind.”
